The Legal Stuff

Here’s all the legal stuff that you need to know.

Good Deed Dating with cats

The Good Deed Dating Website provides a volunteering brokerage service that allows individuals to search our events with charity organisations. Organisations seeking volunteers will be able to register with Good Deed Dating as a charity partner. Good Deed Dating is interested to partner with any organization offering volunteering opportunities within the Greater London area. These Terms and Conditions may be changed at any time without notice, so please check them every now and then. If you continue to use our website we’ll assume you agree with the new terms. You will not use the Website and/or the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms and Conditions.

Site Administration

By registering on the site, you agree to using it lawfully, and for its stated purpose only.

To become a member with Good Deed Dating you must be at least eighteen years old.

Your Right To Cancel

This section applies to you if you are a “consumer” as defined under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

You have the right to cancel your membership within fourteen days from the date of placing your initial order for a subscription by contacting the Good Deed Dating team.  If you cancel your contract for the services during the 14 day cancellation period, we will reimburse you your subscription fee.

All reimbursements shall be made to you within fourteen days and using the same means of payment you used for the initial transactions.

Cancellation rights only apply to your initial order for a subscription and do not apply to subscription renewals.

Payment Terms

Your subscription will be automatically renewed unless you notify us of your wish to terminate your subscription at least 48 hours before the subscription’s expiration date.  The renewal shall be performed in accordance with the manner of payment originally chosen by the member, at the price rate of the subscription to which the member originally agreed.  For the avoidance of all doubt, Members can avoid having their subscription auto-renewed if they contact us at least 48 hours before their Subscription expiration date to terminate their subscription.

All personal data received via the website must be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.  We may carry out periodic surveys to assess the quality of opportunities that are being published through the service. This data will be shared with our charity partners as appropriate.  We will use Google analytics to run various system reports on the use of the website and/or the service.

Good Deed Dating Limited may use photographs, film or other images of you taken at Good Deed Dating events to promote the organisation’s charitable interests and this may include the sharing of such photographs to third parties.

As a member, you may at any time and without the need to provide any reason end your registration with us by requesting the closure of your account in the area of the website designated for such purposes.  Such a request shall be deemed effective from the first working day after we receive your request for closure of the account concerned. Such a request does not trigger reimbursement of, if appropriate, any time remaining on your subscription.

Termination of a subscription, by you, shall be effective on the applicable subscription’s expiration date provided you have contacted us at least 48 hours before your subscription expiration date, otherwise it will automatically renew.

We have the right to terminate access to the service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including without limitation, breach of these Terms and Conditions. We may also at any time, at our sole discretion, suspend, discontinue, withdraw the website or any part thereof without prior notice and you agree that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the website.

Good Deed Dating works best when all our tickets are filled.  This is because our charity partners have enough people to run their activity but also, just as importantly, our deeders have the best chance of meeting someone amazing if there are the right numbers of people at the event.  Therefore, we have a policy to try and make sure that if someone cancels their ticket or their membership, we have enough time to fill the space and ensure that the activity can still go ahead with the charity.

Cancelling your ticket for an event

We understand that your plans will change from time to time.  All we ask is that you tell us if you can’t attend the event with as much notice as possible.  It means we can contact our waiting list for the event to give someone else a chance to come along, and that the charity has enough people to run the event so everyone has a great time.  You can cancel your ticket at any time in your account.  However, you will only get a refund up to 48 hours before the event.

Cancelling your membership

You can cancel your membership at any time very easily on your account profile.  You will only receive a refund if you choose to cancel within 24 hours of purchase.  For more information on this do get in touch with us.

Good Deed Dating Limited is committed to protecting your privacy and this Privacy Policy sets out our privacy practices. Please take the time to review this Privacy Policy carefully, as it tells you how your personal information will be treated by us.

By using the gooddeeddating.co.uk site, you unconditionally agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. Good Deed Dating wants to offer you the best possible online experience. Consequently, additional functions, features, products or services are incorporated into the Good Deed Dating Site from time to time. This, and our commitment to protecting the privacy of your personal information, may result in periodic changes to this Privacy Policy. As a result, please remember to refer back to this Privacy Policy regularly to review any amendments.

What information do we collect?

Information supplied by you

Good Deed Dating members must provide their name, address, telephone number and e-mail in order to apply for volunteering opportunities.  This information will be kept by Good Deed Dating for future communications with volunteers, as well as being passed to third party volunteering organisations to enable them to manage volunteer applications.

Good Deed Dating members are able to create a personal account on the Site, which will enable them to access additional functionality.  Personal contact details are required so that Good Deed Dating can create an account, allocate a unique access password and, if you agree, send out appropriate communications to volunteers registering on the site.  There are also optional equalities-related questions, e.g. on gender and sexuality, which enable Good Deed Dating to provide the best experience of our website and our events. Good Deed Dating may also use this data to monitor the take-up of events and to develop future marketing strategies for engaging more Londoners in volunteering.

We will also collect information from you if you choose to take part in any of our surveys or polls carried out by Good Deed Dating to gauge the success of various volunteering programmes.

We may ask for this information through our Site, or as a result of other communications with us. Certain information is collected automatically (see below).

We may automatically collect non-personal information about you, such as the type of internet browsers you use, or the site from which you linked to our Site. You cannot be identified from this information, and it is only used to assist us in providing an effective service on our Site. We may, from time to time, supply the owners or operators of third party sites, from which it is possible to link to our Site, with information relating to the number of users linking to our Site from their sites. You cannot be identified from this information. What do we use collected personal information for? In order to:

  • verify your identity;

Disclosing your information to others

The details you provide will be passed to third parties, specifically volunteering organisations whose opportunities you express an interest in.  This is to enable them to contact you directly about the opportunity. Other than the disclosures referred to in this policy, we will not disclose any personal information without your permission, unless we are legally entitled or obliged to do so (for example, if required to do so by Court order, or in order to prevent fraud or any other crime).  We give you the opportunity to share your contact details directly with our Deeders yourself but will never pass them on ourselves.

We have implemented technology and policies to help safeguard your privacy from unauthorised access and improper use, including incorporating secure login. We will continue to update these measures as new technology becomes available.
