London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London.
In the 28 years they have been running, they have treated just under 36,000 people in desperate need of immediate medical care. Without the team’s rapid response, many of these patients would not have survived. In 2016 a second helicopter was added to the team, meaning they can reach even more people that need them.
It costs around £8 million per year to keep the helicopters flying and to continue providing lifesaving treatment to the 10 million people that live, work and commute within the M25. London’s Air Ambulance is hugely dependent on its team of volunteers and supporters, who help them fundraise and spread the word to keep the charity going – with all the money raised going to an incredible cause.
