How Good Deed Dating Works

In a nutshell, we coordinate volunteering events for single people in London.

There are 3 simple steps to finding love with us:

It’s that easy.  Keen to give it a go? We’ll see you there.

Book your first event today

How much does it cost?

We do our very best to keep our prices as low as we can to make Good Deed Dating accessible to as many people as possible.  All you need to buy is your ticket to each event.  Tickets for events usually cost around £12 each.

All we ask is that you consider donating some of your time and skills to help us run GDD.  Whatever your interests or skills, we can definitely find something useful and fun for you to help us with.  So please do fill out a form if  you would like to help out.

Where does your money go?

We are a not-for-profit social enterprise which means we aim to do some good in the world and as part of that promise, we donate 25% of our profit to our charity partners at the end of each year.  The other 75% goes towards making our events even better.  So you can rest assured that your money is going to great causes and helping to spread love in London.

Remember that you are not paying to volunteer with us (you can volunteer for free anywhere – and we actively encourage that!), you are paying for our service, to introduce you to kind hearted single people.

Why it works

We know that everyone wants to make a difference in the world, so why not make that difference while you date?

You’ll meet people who share your interests, care about the things you care about and most importantly, people who want to meet someone just like you.

Just a few of the questions we get asked, but if you would like to ask us something that isn’t here, just get in contact.

Logistical Questions

We understand that your plans will change from time to time.  All we ask is that you tell us if you can’t attend the event with as much notice as possible.  It means we can contact our waiting list for the event to give someone else a chance to come along, and that the charity has enough people to run the event so everyone has a great time.  You can cancel your ticket at any time in your account.  However, you will only get a refund up to 48 hours before the event.

Tickets for events often sell out pretty quickly but we usually release more tickets in the run up to the event so it’s always worth joining the waiting list.  All you need to do is click the waiting list button on the event page and wait for a notification when we release more tickets or someone cancels their ticket.  Everyone on the waiting list will get notified at the same time (it’s not done on a first come first served basis) so don’t hang about to buy your ticket if you get a notification!

All the details you need are on the events page.  You will also receive reminders about the event in the days leading up to it. If you have any questions, please email and she will be able to send you all the details.

We have recently made membership to GDD free, so you are off the hook on this one!  We do ask, however that you consider donating your time and skills to help us keep going.  Whatever your interest or skills, we can definitely find something useful and fun for you to help out with.  You can fill out a form here.

Not right now but we are currently building one, so stay tuned!

Dating Questions

It’s the charity that decides how many deeders they would like at each event, but as a general rule the very minimum is 6 with an average group size of 8-10 deeders.

No, Good Deed Dating is not like speed dating. We prefer a much more relaxed approach to dating so rather than chatting with lots of different people for 3 minutes each, you’ll be spending time doing an activity with a like-minded group of singles. We think this is a much better way of getting to know someone, and so do our members!

Plenty of people meet people they like at Good Deed Dating! We don’t matchmake people like other companies, so make sure you swap numbers before the end of the date.

At the moment we don’t, but we are planning to launch our first LGBT events before the end of 2017. Want to come to one? Please get in touch with as we would love to hear from you!

We would love to come to your city!  Expansion is on the horizon, starting with a one-off pop-ups in various cities. Want us to come to your city? You can now make that happen.  E-mail as we would love to hear from you!

Some of our events do sell out very quickly and we know that can be annoying! The good news is you can sign up for e-mail alerts through our website, which means you will get a notification straight to your inbox every time a new event goes live. Just enter your e-mail address on the website, and never miss an event again!  You can also follow us on social media as we post when we have new events.  Or simply look out for notifications through your Good Deed Dating account.

In the spirit of inclusivity and meeting someone you might not have expected to fall for, all our events are open to anyone.

Charity Questions

The short answer is, some of it.  Good Deed Dating is a social enterprise, meaning all our profits are re-invested back into both our charity partners and keeping the business running. The entire cost of your ticket does not go directly to charity, but at the end of the year we split 25% of our overall profits between our charity partners. This means that part of the cost of your ticket does go towards helping our amazing charities and the rest goes towards running Good Deed Dating.

We’re always love to hear about potential new charity partners! If you work for a charity or can put us in touch with a project that you think could benefit from partnering with Good Deed Dating, then please get in touch by e-mailing

No, in fact it’s the opposite! It’s completely free for our charity partners to work with Good Deed Dating – and they actually benefit from a portion of 25% of our profits at the end of each year.
